Un Petit Chanson

The Martians Have Landed!

A couple of weekends ago, Paula was up visiting and dropped in to see Pete, Anna and Leo (who were also visiting) and hand over a rather splendid Christmas pressie for Leo in the shape of a game involving speed, accuracy, noise, violence and Martians. Just the sort of thing a you lad enjoys, and Holly had a good bash at it too:

Nice weather for ducks

One pleasing side effect of all the recent rainfall is the massive puddles for wading through. Not sure when this was taken, it's from Helen's phone, but it's at the small pond outside Inverleith House in the Botanics.

She Bangs The Drums

Picking up Holly from her Wednesday grandma visit yesterday, I find her up to high doh with maracas and a tabourine and all manner of percussive items, and having a whale of a time at it, too. Phone video can't do it justice but it's worth a look:

Christmas Redux

Ahh, I remember it well. The second wave of festive excitement heralded by the arrival of a package from Ontario, CANADA. And Holly's now had the same experience, with a lovely Christmas pressie from Ann & Mike. And now a comment from Holly herself, she's "helping" me type this: ,,,, bvnbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bbbb6 dddddddddddddee

Boating at Versailles

A wee blast from the past. I'm backing up pictures and things from the summer and came across a couple of clips of us boating on the pond in the Sun King's back garden. Shortly after this was taken, Ratty was cruelly abandoned in the boat and I got to be a heroic dad by running all the way back to fetch him as we were leaving.

Funny Little Park Pt II

Same story, moving pictures this time. Phone again, so terrible quality again I'm afraid...

Saturday morning, Holly and I went to Tesco for a bit of light shopping. This was enough of an event that we went for a wee ice cream afterwards, then on to what Holly calls the "funny little park" nearby. These are phone pictures, so apologies for the terrible quality...

A wee visit from Bonnie

Bonnie (and of course Ruby, Jim and Sheena) popped in for tea and cake to say cheerio before leaving Embra. Fairy costumes were dispensed and much waving of magic wands ensued. Click picture for a short slideshow.

I meant to do this earlier - here are the images from the 13-week and 20-week scans of the wee nipper who has become known as "beanie" in the meantime. It should be obvious which ones are which, click the picture for a slideshow... click the slideshow pics to view them full-size and read some notes on flickr.

Another co-hosting experiment

So, having established that I can embed media from flickr and YouTube, what about other sources? Here's one of Dave's pictures of Holly at Versailles. Click on the picture and you *should* be taken to his .Mac page...

This may be the future of Holly travel, especially by rail. A Maisy video, ripped from DVD and downloaded onto the iPod. A big pair of headphones that don't fall out of her ears. Result, a quiet and contented Holly who may sit still for ages, making rail travel an altogether more relaxing prospect. Expect a field test in February...

No, I didn't lick the cream...

Now this is interesting. This is a picture from Scott's flickr page, but it seems I can embed it on *my* Blogger page. How exciting. Anyway, this is a rather nice wee picture of Holly during Christmas dinner. Click the picture to get to the full-size version and the rest of Scott's pictures.
