A lovely (if slightly soft) picture of Helen and Holly, with Helen ready to head off to Paula & Dave's wedding. We didn't take many pictures of the wedding itself but there are a couple here that best men Fraser and Stuart used to conclude their multimedia enhanced speech.

When The Wind Blows
... go fly a kite. The weather on Monday was terrible, howling gales and freezing showers. So naturally we popped down to Silverknowes to fly a kite. Holly was on the point of giving up as we trooped heads-down into the tempest, but when we turned our backs to the wind and got the kite up, the weather melted away and the wee eskimo smile took over. My hands were freezing so I only took one picture. Earlier that day, I was moving the TV and things around, and Louis clambered up on the stand. He was more entertaining that anything else on TV that day ha ha ha!

Chores
Another Saturday morning, more chores. Holly's becoming a dab hand at the dishes, and Louis... well, Louis helps by rearranging the pots. Of course when I got the ladder out to check a leaky rone, they both wanted to be up there, so off they went. Louis has no fear, and no lack of confidence in his physical ability. He was up that ladder without so much as a hand to hold or a word of encouragement. Later on, Holly was up the apple tree again, although the apples are long gone.

Friday In The Park
A quick trip out to Davidsons Mains park on Friday with Helen. Cheery smiles to the fore.

Ballet Morning
A typical Saturday morning chez Millar. We get dressed and do some chores and sometimes some cooking. Holly goes to ballet then comes back and shows us what she learned. Then we pass the time until lunchtime reading, pottering and - sometimes - doing more chores.

Eight Miles High
Friday, and my third day with the kiddies in what has been a hectic week. The weather was rotten so we headed down to Molly's at Ocean Terminal, where we ran into Gill and Olivia, and Lesley and Luke. The kids disappeared into the climbing thingy while us adults ate cake and talked about grown-up stuff. Presently I became aware that I'd lost track of Louis. I wandered about the room looking for him, until Lesley and Gill pointed him out to me, up on the highest level of the climbing thingy and gazing down on us all like a snotty but benevolent toddler god.

The Sun Has Got His Hat On
We seem (whisper it) to be experiencing something of an indian summer. It's cool, but the sky is clear and the wind is light. Today we popped round to the park in Blackhall on Craigcrook Road. Holly played with the "local" kids, Louis climbed up and down the slides as he is wont to do, and they both fell off the see-saw when I tried (and failed) to get a nice picture.

Revolution!
It was an event rarer than eclipses, near-misses by asteroids and planetary alignments. On Sunday the Millar boys and their respective other halves and offspring gathered without the parents, who are still dodging their babysitting duties in Canada and other points west. Niall documented the event, click here to read his account.
This Means Something
Leo and the Evanses visited on Sunday. Leo and Holly disappeared upstairs and were rather quiet. I went up to investigate, and the floor, the wardrobes and every horizontal surface had been cleared and their contents piled onto Holly's bed. They were inordinately pleased with themselves. Guess who had to put it all back?
