House Guests
We had Peter, Kirsty and Bea to stay at the weekend. They'd been up in Scotland for most of the week, and dropped in on us before returning to London. It was brief but busy, fun but tiring. Everything a weekend should be. We hardly took any pictures, but here they are. Will post a link to Peter and Kirsty's photos as and when they're posted.

Sniffle
Our poor wee girl has a bit of a cold. She was a bit droopy and lethargic today, so I sat her down with the laptop and pointed her at a BBC documentary about Japanese Snow Monkeys on iPlayer. She was transfixed.

The Future's So Bright... Again
Ah, is there any limit to how cute wee kids look when they're wearing shades, even pink ones with flowers on them? Pity about the rivulets of snot, but you can't have everything...

Down The Pub Redux
Or, a romantic Valentine's Day drink for four. Saturday, we were down checking out the ponies at Cramond, and decided to build on the success of last week's pub visit by popping into the Cramond Brig for a wee pint. It's family friendly, handy for many local outings, and much nicer and more like a proper pub than last week's venue. You hardly even notice that you're 10 metres from the A90...

Another White Monday
A good snowfall last Monday, with proper squeaky skiing snow, albeit only two inches of it. We'd go out for half an hour, get cold, then come in for half an hour and get dried out and warmed up. Rinse and repeat until lunchtime. Holly and Louis loved eating snow and we made a huge snowman, who has now been reduced to a rather sorry 12" mound by the balmier weather. Louis and I also did a wee bit of bike maintenance in the garage.
Down The Pub Prologue
The morning before we headed down to the pub, it was snowing when we got up. Of course they both wanted to go out, and so they did. Slipped the wellies on, and popped out into the snow in their jammies. Holly was catching flakes on her tongue, and Louis did his best to follow suit. Here he is, gazing admiringly at his big sister.

Down The Pub
Saturday afternoon, and we popped down to Lauriston Castle for a wee stroll around the grounds before we headed off to the neighbouring Lauriston Farm, which isn't a farm, it's a pub. Not only that, it's a rather plasticky Brewer's Fayre pub but we'd heard it had decent kids' food and good deals for grownups, so we decided to investigate. Holly had bangers and mash, and scoffed the lot. Ditto for Louis, who had pasta, although he was less keen on his brownie dessert. Holly obliged by polishing it off after she'd eaten her own plate of fruit. Fruit, that is, which came with a chocolate fudge dipping sauce. Not the greatest meal they'll ever eat, but it's nice to deviate from the routine...

Nappies
A couple of weeks ago, Helen took Louis to an open photo shoot for Huggies nappies. The idea was that they *might* use pictures for some kind of promotional materials, but one way or another we'd get a photo of Louis cavorting in a Huggies nappy. This is it.
It's a nice shot - better than I can do on my phone - but something's not quite right. It just doesn't look quite like him.
Plus I think his nappy's a bit droopy. That's probably why he didn't make the cut...

More White Stuff
Pat and John visited this week, just in time for another light flurry of snow. As ever, it didn't amount to more than a couple of inches. The rest of the country seems to have fared better - or worse, depending on how you look at it. Undaunted, we set out into the garden for a bit of snowman-building and sledging before the little ones got a bit cold, whereupon we all headed inside for hot chocolate.

Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
Just a couple of nice pics from the weekend, Holly at bedtime and both of them helping with the dishes on Sunday morning. Needless to say, there wasn't much washing going on...
