Gates & Goldilocks

DSC_4516

For World Book Day, or Book Week or some such thing, the school invited the kiddies to dress up as their favourite character from a book. Clearly the more ambitious suggestions had to be tempered slightly in favour of practicality, but we ended up with Tom Gates and Goldilocks (complete with three bears).

Pieces of Eight

What with the Easter holidays, going skiing and all, Louis' birthday tends to get stretched over a few events. Here he is with his boisterous pals at his football party at Edinburgh Academy, and with la famille Millar at Wagamama in Ocean Terminal - very sophisticated for an eight year old, although he does tend to go for the cod cubes rather than the ramen...

Kissing the Frog

2015-03-21 12.46.48

Holly and Helen spent a Sunday afternoon down at the school, helping out with a bit of gardening work. They trimmed and rebuilt some of the willow arches in the woodland area, made a habitat for insects, found a frog (and kissed it) and - it would appear - did a fair bit of mucking about with the wheelie tub things.

Avant Ski

Avant Ski

With only a few short week to go until the 3rd annual Millar ski trip, Holly and Louis had a wee private lesson at Hillend, courtesy of Grandma Pat. It was a revelation, they probably got as much attention and feedback in one hour as they did in the whole of last year's French trip.

Louis announced that he'd enjoyed it more than skiing in the alps, when quizzed further he revealed that this was because there were "no French people here." Which seems a little harsh.

Their Cup Runneth Over

Scottish Cup Photo

Apparently, this is the Scottish Cup. It came to visit Louis and his five a side team at World of Football back in March.

World of Football is an odd place, it's notionally inside but achieves the rare architectural feat of being colder indoors than out, even on freezing winter days. They're playing outside at Power League now that spring has sprung.

He plays for Cramond FC, they play friendlies on Sunday mornings and train on Thursday evenings. Louis loves it, despite pulling weird faces during photo-ops.
