A glorious early spring day took us to Cammo for a spot of climbing and swinging. Holly and Louis can be difficult to shift out of doors, but once they're out there's no stopping them, and so it proved this day. They climbed and ran and swung on our portable rope swing and didn't want to go home. Cammo, as ever, was spectacular in the low winter sun, it's a cracking spot.

Dino's Café

Holly had learned Dino's Café by Matthew Fitt as part of a project for school. It's kind of become her party piece, and she treated us to a performance or three when we visited Gorgie Farm during the mid-term break.

Back to January briefly, and a couple of snaps from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the show Holly and her pals put on as part of drama group. She was the toymaker. Zooming forward to February, we visited Gorgie Farm during the mid-term break.

After the success of Holly's lesson at Hillend, Helen had set up some private lessons for both of the kiddies at Polmont Hill Ski Centre, an odd little slope in West Lothian with delightful views over the refinery at Grangemouth. Skiing doesn't get any more exotic than this, I tell you! Anyhoo Louis had his first ever go and - inspired no doubt by his older sister - seemed to pick it up with no trouble at all. Holly, meantime, is progressing with her snowplough and even jumping. A little. Next lesson, they're going to have a go at the tow, which will free them from all that sidestepping.

A couple of weeks ago, we took Louis to the skatepark at Saughton. I think Holly was at a party or something, either way the weekend seemed to be revolving around her so we did something Louis-focused. As ever, it was windswept and chilly, but Louis insisted on removing his outer garments and had a great time not crashing into the older kids...
