Monday's Children Are...

Mondays at home with Holly and Louis are proving to be far more pleasurable and much less of an ordeal than I may have anticipated. It's still hard work, but it's fun too. This Monday we road-tested Holly's new buggy board in the park in the morning. While Louis napped after lunch, Holly and I played torches in the dark, then we went to the library to get a new batch of books. Louis played on the rocking cow and looked very grown-up indeed...

An Update For Mummy

Mummy misses her wee babies when she's at work, so I try to mail her pictures and video clips to keep her going until hometime. Here's a little iMovie timelapse clip we made of Holly and Louis playing in the kitchen while I did the morning dishes. It would have been longer, but my poor old G4 PowerBook popped its clogs after just a few minutes...

Easy Like Sunday?

Bit of a grim week chez Millar, with most of us laid low to some degree with a heady combination of cold, flu and sleep deprivation. Holly marked the end of the week with a two-party day on Sunday. Off to Almond Valley Heritage Centre for Evie's 4th in the morning, then a short break for quiet time before heading to Molly's for Amelie's 3rd. Eagle-eyed viewers will note the return of my Fuji s602 Zoom. It's nice to have it back, but it still can't focus for toffee in low light. Ho hum.

Happy Monday

It's blurry, out of focus, and a bit shaky. Much like Monday itself, when I was on my own with the kiddies again after a week "off" with a bout of that vomiting thing that everyone seems to be getting. The vomiting has passed, thank goodness, but now we're getting a family cold. January, eh?

Vogrie Again

Vogrie Country Park

This morning we headed down the A68 to Vogrie Country Park, there to meet with Sarah, Duncan, Skye and Jasmin. Lous fell asleep on the way. They have giant chairs and a huge tricycle, not to mention an adventure playground, a cafe, a soft play area and untold wonders we didn't find because it was too cold to stay out long. Skye and Holly played really well together, and the rest of us grinned and rubbed our hands. Both Holly and Louis fell asleep on the way home, bless 'em. They were plum tuckered out.

Busy Social Saturday

Very heavy frost on Saturday morning, we went to a playground in Montgomery Street for a change, then round to Renroc café for hot drinks to warm up again. Then it was off to Gusto, there to meet with Dave & Paula and the Evans family. Dave & Paula are getting married later in the year, so there was an obvious opportunity to photograph them holding our children and smirk knowingly. After a short afternoon nap, we were off to Vittoria for the first of Niall's birthday dinners. Scott's posted some photos of the occasion on flickr.

First Day At Home

I'm a week late posting this, but last Monday was my first day at home with the kiddies now that Helen's returned to work and Louis has started nursery. They went easy on me, and I actually enjoyed the day rather than merely surviving it as I'd expected. I'm posting the pictures just to prove the kids were happy, and I was relaxed enough to take pictures!

Happy New Year!

First post of 2008. Not a great crop of pictures, mostly because we've been busy returning to work and nursery and generally getting back to real life after the random excitement of the festive season. This afternoon we popped up to the wee park in Princes Street Gardens for a last look at the bright lights of Edinburgh's Christmas, and the other pictures are us just hanging out this weekend before the work/nursery year begins proper tomorrow. Oh, and Louis is 9 months old today. Where did the time go?
