Crop Circles

A Grand Day Out
Gorgeous weather today, all blue skies and sunshine and unseasonably warm. We went to the Botanics to meet up with the Wallace family, and had a great time chasing around the rock garden and a nice spot of lunch. Later the same day, we went for a wee wander down to the park and the Water of Leith walkway to feed the ducks, but they were nowhere to be seen, alas.

Saturday morning, getting dressed. Holly decides to put her vest on her legs, and pushes her feet through the armholes. We followed this notion to its logical conclusion, and here's the result. Knickers on the head, top on the legs, jeans on the arms and socks on the hands. She was delighted.

Home from Nursery
Getting ready to leave nursery on Friday, Holly piped up "can I have a hat Izzy?" Izzy obligingly opened the spare clothes chest, and holly picked out this rather splendid yellow number. "How about this one?" she says, pulling it on to her head. Izzy called it the Pineapple hat.

Experiments in Makeup
So Grandma Pat found a "girls world" makeup kit in a car boot sale or something, and Holly took the opportunity to try it out this evening in Saffron Walden. What a transformation etc etc. Turns out (I didn't notice this until I'd uploaded them) that these pictures are mirror-image because I took them using Photo Booth on a MacBook.

Chez Paula & Dave
Not related to Holly in any way, but here's a few crappy phone pictures of Dave & Paula's new house in Shepherd's Bush, London. I was in Woking for the week doing a spot of training, and I popped in one evening for a home-cooked meal and a wee glass of wine. Very nice, but I must get a better phone.

Happy New Haircut!
Saturday morning, and it's time for Holly's annual (?) haircut. We're still growing out the fringe, but everything else has had a trim, and I for one think it's lovely. We went to Luca's in Morningside for an ice cream as a reward for being a good wee girl at the hairdresser's, then - with a certain inevitability - off to the funny wee park for a pre-lunch muck about in the January sunshine.

Calum's Birthday
It seems like a million years ago, but this must have been just last May. Fish & chips and ice cream at the Anstruther Fish Bar, followed by a windswept Dr Who-themed birthday cake in picturesque Crail harbour.
Funny Little Park (again)
Oh dear, it's not been a great week for Helen and Holly, with all sorts of unpleasantness involving colds, viruses and upset tummies. We all seem to be on the mend now though, so here's a few phone pics of last Saturday's visit to the "funny little park" after Tesco and ice cream.
